Studies on BLDC motor for position control using PID-Fuzzy-Neural Network and Anti-windup Controllers

This paper presents a novel approach to control the speed of BLDC motor by using PID, Fuzzy, Neural Network and Anti-windup Controllers. The PID controllers is set to optimize the motor parameters such as rise time, peak time, Maximum peak overshoot and Settling time. The fuzzy controller adopts fuzzy logic to retune the PID parameters. Based on the mathematical model of BLDC Motor, novel adaptive fuzzy control strategies and Neural Network Controller have been designed in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The results have been recorded under various operating conditions. The simulation results showed that the Neural Network Controller made much better performance than the traditional PID controller, fuzzy controller and Anti-windup Controller in the speed responses and system performance.
